For my Social Studies Unit Plan, I am teaching a StoryPathon Marine Life, specifically the Great Barrier Reef.  A website I found helpful in acheiving my learning targets for this unit is Zubi's Underwater Gallery.     Not only is this site a wonderful teacher resource, but a great student resource as well.  This site offers a collection of underwater photos of coral reef fish and invertabrates, as well as travelogues for divers and links to marine biology sites.  In this unit, students will complete research on a marine animal of their choice.  This website will aid them in their research by providing visuals of sea animals and marine life, as well as coral reef descriptions in our world.  As a part of this unit, We will look at the effects of an oil spill on The Great Barrier Reef, and this site provides us with many links to marine biology sites that will help us learn about the effects of oil on marine life.
